A report by Connect Florida, in coordination with the Florida Department of Management Services, finds Florida businesses with broadband connections generate more revenue and jobs than those without it. Florida businesses with high-speed Internet connections have median annual revenue $130,000 greater than those without broadband. Seventy-four percent of Florida’s businesses use broadband. Connect Florida’s Business Technology Assessment shows technology is being used by businesses and where gaps still remain.
“In our digital economy, businesses must embrace broadband, and other transformative technologies like it, in order to survive,” said Brian Mefford, CEO of Connected Nation , Connect Florida’s parent organization.
