It’s time to break out the tequila and celebrate Cinco de Mayo once again, so we put together a list of a few fiesta’s that are taking place around town. Unleash your Mexican spirit and come out to celebrate the 152nd anniversary of the defeat of the French in the Battle of Puebla at one of these Miami hot spots.
Cinco de Mayo is a celebration held on May 5. It is celebrated in the United States and in Mexico, where the holiday is called El Día de la Batalla de Puebla (The Day of the Battle of Puebla). Mexican Americans also see the day as a chance to show their pride and honor their ethnicity.
The holiday is to commemorate the Mexican army’s victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. In the United States, Cinco de Mayo has often been mistaken for Mexico’s Independence Day, which is celebrated on September 16.

Cinco de Mayo Party at Haulover Beach

Rosa Mexicano Restaurant on Miami Beach’s famous Lincoln Road, is bringing back it’s 5 Days of Cinco de Mayo. Come by anytime Friday, May 1 thru Tuesday, May 5 and enjoy a fiesta all week with their $30 Cinco Menu, Specialty Margaritas & Pitchers and over 75 Tequilas & Mezcals.
The Federal’s Cinco de Mayo
Can’t-Miss Craft Beer Event: The Federal’s Cinco de Mayo beer dinner featuring J. Wakefield Brewing. Dinner starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, at The Federal, 5132 Biscayne Blvd., Miami.
This special “Mexico Meets Miami” Cinco de Mayo beer dinner is the creation of The Federal’s Cesar Zapata and Ani Meinhold, along with J. Wakefield owner-brewmaster Johnathan Wakefield. It’s a five-course, six-beer blowout (with two shots of top-shelf tequila for good measure).
The entire menu is explosive and includes Zapata’s chorizo flauta, migas, avocado mousse and Mexican crema paired with Wakefield’s new Not Even French, a saison brewed with fresh guanabana.

Cinco de Mayo Beach Fest
